$66,000 Grant Allocated To Wheatley Friendship Club

MPP Trevor Jones was honored to visit the Wheatley Friendship Club to visit the newly renovated spaces made possible by the $66,000 given by the Ontario Trillium Grant. This funding was allocated to enhance programs for seniors within the community to foster social connections, well-being and a sense of belonging. The grant allowed for the upkeep of the century-old building, once a school which several of the members attended in their youth. Major renovations were made to the club’s library room and billiard room which were affected by water damage. Restoring historic structures, such as the Wheatley Friendship Club, preserves our community’s rich heritage for future generations to enjoy.
