Leamington Welcomes First Patient To MRI Machine
Erie Shores Health Care Team celebrated the first patient to use the new MRI machine at their Leamington location. MPP Trevor Jones was proud to celebrate alongside many other delighted community members on May 23rd at its announcement. Situated 45 minutes from other hospitals, ESHC serves Leamington, Kingsville, Amherstburg, Essex, Harrow, Lakeshore, Tecumseh and Wheatley. The clientele they serve is among the highest-risk demographic in Ontario, with the average age nearly three years older than the provincial average. By installing a mobile MRI machine, ESHC is able to best target the issue of long hospital wait times faced by countless residents in the region. The cost will be $2.1 million for a 5-year lease alongside a $475,000 one-time start-up cost, covered by fundraised dollars. This achievement marks a milestone in the community, providing convenience and accessibility to all residents in the area. Leamington is dedicated to providing universal access to healthcare, putting citizens’ welfare first and pursuing growth and advancement. Everyone deserves quality healthcare, in the community they live in.
