Ontario invests nearly $23 million to help seniors stay active, healthy, independent and connected
CHATHAM-KENT–LEAMINGTON – MPP Trevor Jones is pleased to announce that the Ontario government is investing nearly $23 million to support 416 Seniors Active Living Centres (SALCs) across the province, including seven centres serving seniors throughout Chatham-Kent–Leamington.
This investment will help local Seniors Active Living Centres continue delivering programs and services that encourage active living, reduce social isolation, and provide opportunities for older adults to remain healthy, engaged, and connected within their communities.

We are proud to support these organizations and the incredible work they do for seniors across our riding.”
Seniors Active Living Centres offer a wide variety of recreational, educational, cultural, and wellness programming that helps older adults stay active while fostering strong community connections. The province partners with municipalities, non-profit organizations, registered charities, Indigenous organizations, Legions, Lions Clubs, and other community groups to deliver these valuable local programs.
“Our government is increasing our investments in these very popular Seniors Active Living Centres,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “We are investing nearly $23 million in 416 Seniors Active Living Centres across Ontario, including 100 new centres added over the past year, ensuring more seniors have access to programs that support healthy, active, and connected lives.”

Quick Facts

- Funding has increased by $17 million over three years, allowing the province to expand the program by adding 100 new Seniors Active Living Centres.
