Ontario Supporting Seniors Active Living Centres in Chatham-Kent-Leamington
Province investing $86,277.50 in eight centres to help seniors stay fit, healthy, and Active Living.

Chatham-Kent-Leamington—MPP Trevor Jones announced today that the Ontario government is investing $86,277.50 to support eight Seniors Active Living Centres (SALCs) in the Chatham-Kent-Leamington area.
This funding is part of the fourth and final quarterly installment for this fiscal year, ensuring centres can continue delivering in-person and virtual programs that help older adults aged 50 and older stay active, healthy, and socially connected.
“The support of Seniors Active Living Centres ensures that our community’s older adults have access to programs and activities that enrich their lives and foster connections,” said MPP Trevor Jones. “This funding helps us celebrate the contributions of our seniors and reinforces the Ontario government’s commitment to their well-being.”
“This year, we have increased our investment in Seniors Active Living Centres by almost one million dollars over last year, providing seniors with more opportunities to access programs and supports,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Our government continues to invest in programs that improve the health and well-being of Ontario’s aging population.”
The SALCs in Chatham-Kent-Leamington receiving funding include:
- Blenheim & Community Senior Citizens Group
- Funding: $12,500 (Q4) | $51,130 (Annual)
- Programs: Pickleball, bridge, euchre, exercise classes, belly and line dancing, tai chi, and more.
- Club de l’Âge d’Or Le Foyer Pointe-aux-Roches
- Funding: $5,082.50 (Q4) | $21,345 (Annual)
- Programs: Euchre, pepper, bingo, scrabble, monthly dinners, day trips, and holiday events.
- Leamington and District Half-Century Centre
- Funding: $12,500 (Q4) | $51,137 (Annual)
- Programs: Cards, dance, cornhole, yoga, and art.
- Active Lifestyle Centre (Maple City Centre for Older Adults)
- Funding: $12,500 (Q4) | $51,137 (Annual)
- Programs: Zumba, yoga, bridge, billiards, aging in place classes, and more.
- Morpeth Heritage 60+ Club
- Funding: $12,500 (Q4) | $50,000 (Annual)
- Programs: Shuffleboard, cards, trips, meals, and foot care.
- Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre
- Funding: $12,500 (Q4) | $51,061 (Annual)
- Programs: Yoga, pickleball, card games, arts, workshops, and exercise programs.
- Tilbury & District Seniors Adult Centre Association (Leisure Centre)
- Funding: $10,675 (Q4) | $42,700 (Annual)
- Programs: Card games, shuffleboard, exercise classes, yoga, and line dancing.
- Wheatley and District Friendship Club Inc.
- Funding: $8,020 (Q4) | $33,217 (Annual)
- Programs: Zoom programs, card games, billiards, quilting, darts, crafts, and more.
Quick Facts
- This funding is part of an annual $15 million investment in SALC programs.
- Base funding has increased to up to $55,000 in 2025, from $50,000 in 2024 and $42,700 in 2023.
- A $17 million investment over three years will expand the number of SALCs from 316 to 416, enhancing accessibility in underserved communities.
