Enviroshake’s investment will increase local manufacturing capacity and create six new good-paying jobs in Chatham-Kent
Chatham-Kent — The Ontario government is welcoming an investment of $4,746,919 from Enviroshake, a manufacturer of premium composite roofing material, to boost local manufacturing capacity and create six new good-paying jobs in Chatham-Kent.
The investment was announced by Trevor Jones, Member of Provincial Parliament for Chatham-Kent-Leamington.
“By supporting strategic investments from regional businesses, our government is protecting Ontario’s workers and creating the conditions for a strong, stable, and resilient economy that can weather any storm,” said MPP Trevor Jones. “Enviroshake’s investment will strengthen manufacturing in Chatham-Kent, increase the supply of Ontario-made building materials for our housing sector while creating more good-paying jobs for workers and families in our community.”
With this investment, Enviroshake will upgrade its operations through the installation of new equipment, to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and expand production capacity. These upgrades, including the addition of a new production line, will help the company increase output, strengthen their competitiveness, and better support Ontario’s housing sector with made-in-Ontario inputs.
“We’re grateful for the government support that’s helping us invest in new equipment and expand our manufacturing capabilities. This investment will strengthen our manufacturing capabilities, and position us for continued innovation and expansion. We are proud to be building and growing right here in our community,” said Ashley Smith, President of Enviroshake.
In support of this investment, the government is providing Enviroshake with $500,000 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF).
“Employing more than 800,000 workers across the province, Ontario’s manufacturing sector is the economic engine of our nation,” said Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. “Our government is proud to support local companies like Enviroshake as they expand their operations, and we thank them for their contributions to Ontario’s dynamic and growing manufacturing ecosystem.”
Ontario is investing over $230 million through its Regional Development Program to help manufacturers across the province grow while supporting distinct regional priorities. To date, Ontario has supported more than 180 projects through the program, leveraging more than $2.6 billion in new investments and helping to create over 5,500 jobs.
